UAB “Medieva” is implementing the project “Creation of AEI Production Capacity at UAB ‘Medieva.'”
The goal of the project is to reduce the intensity of electricity consumption from the grid by enabling the use of renewable energy sources for electricity production. During the project, a solar photovoltaic power plant will be installed to ensure the production of part of the consumed electricity using solar energy resources.
The cost of installing the solar power plant is approximately 492,000 EUR (excluding VAT). It is co-financed by the European Union, with funding allocated up to 293,079.00 EUR. The planned project implementation period is 24 months.
As a result of the project, a ground-mounted solar photovoltaic power plant with a capacity of approximately 500 kW will produce around 508,142 MWh of electricity (~66.3% of total consumption). Based on the 2021 average, the value of this electricity would be approximately 120,000 EUR. This amount of electricity will be sufficient to meet UAB “Medieva’s” primary needs, such as production processes and lighting.
The new equipment will help reduce pollution caused by industrial electricity production and the extraction and generation of other energy resources, such as diesel and other fuels. By using more than half of the electricity generated from the solar power plant for its operations, UAB “Medieva” will reduce the environmental impact of its production processes, CO2 generation, and emissions, thereby contributing to mitigating climate change.
